What makes entrepreneurs entrepreneurial?
I came across a paper called “What makes entrepreneurs entrepreneurial” by Saras Sarasvathy which she submitted to HBR in 2001. I think it’s fantastic. You can view it here.
A few points I found most interesting were…
- “While casual reasoning focuses on expected return, effectual reasoning emphasizes affordable loss” page 5
- “Ready-fire-aim” instead of “Ready-aim-aim-aim-aim” page 6
- “…the future is not “out there” to be discovered, but that it gets created…” page 7
